Our vision at Doulos
is to equip our students to become servant leaders. We help
them grow wings and it is my privilege to watch some of these
students begin to fly. One student, Nelson Badia, is a senior
this year. Since last spring, he has been diligently preparing
for what lies beyond high school. Nelson's dream is to one day
become a cardiac surgeon and help his fellow Dominicans here on
the island. To do that, we are encouraging him to attend
college in the United States.

These are uncharted
waters for Nelson and for Doulos, as this is our first
graduating class. But he has already been accepted into two
prestigious schools in the Midwest: St. Olaf College and
Creighton University. I announce with great excitement that
Nelson recently received word from St. Olaf and have offered a
close to full scholarship.
I remind our students often that God is preparing them for
something far beyond what they can imagine. Something that
brings Him glory, not just a nice salary. Our seniors are
beginning to catch glimpses of this in their own lives. Thank
you for helping us give our students wings!
