amazing performance last night of
dance, signing, and musical
instrument playing. A special thanks
to our permanent substitute and
dance teacher, Jerry Cabot!

Alumni Pride: National Soccer
Championship
December 16, 2010
 Johan Sanchez, one of our 2010
graduates, helped lead Tyler Junior
College to win the NJCAA Division I
Soccer National Championship. We are
so excited to have been a part of
this huge success.
For those who don't know him, Johan
was one of the best players here in
the Dominican Republic playing for
the national team as well as for the
Doulos Revolution.
It greatly encourages us to know
that Johan's enrollment in the
Sponsorship program here at Doulos
gave him the opportunity to travel
to the states to study at Tyler
Junior College and be a part of a
national championship soccer team.
Our
congratulations go to Johan and the
TJC Soccer program!
Yell(ow) for Education
December 6, 2010
 Currently the Dominican Republic gives about 1.5% of their GDP toward public education. This falls far short of the real need. Right now government officials are discussing an increase to 4% of the GDP. This increase would open up opportunities to improve teacher pay, build much needed classrooms, and furnish schools with necessary supplies like desks, books, chalkboards...To visibly show their support of this proposal, Dominicans (and Americans) are wearing yellow today (Monday, December 6).
This increase is for public schools but Doulos Discovery knows that this increase will help to bring change through better education to the Dominican Republic and is therefore proudly wearing yellow today.
Please pray for the government officials that will be making the final decisions on this.
