Trip Costs are determined by the following 4 factors:

    $46.50 per diem/person for nights spent in Jarabacoa
    $250 materials donation/person
    $100 operations donation/person
    $??? Tourism/adventure activities (cost varies according to groups request)

Estimated cost for an individual on a 7-day work team with tourism activity: US$ 800.00


Per Diem

    LODGING. Teams stay in family style cabins within walking distance of school.
    MEALS. All meals from arrival time until final departure from Jarabacoa are included.
    TRANSPORTATION. Destinations outside of walking distance will be in 15 passenger taxis. All transport from initial airport pickup in Santiago until final departure from Jarabacoa is included. There is an additional charge of $21/person for teams that choose to fly into or out of an airport other than Santiago.
    LEARNING MATERIALS. All supplies necessary for classes and cultural enrichment are included.
    TEAM GIFT. Each team will make a final product to help share their experience with their community back home.

Teams departing in the afternoon will be charged a ½ day per diem for their final day in Jarabacoa.

Any remaining funds go toward the continued development of Doulos.

 

Materials and Operations Donation

   DOULOS PROJECT. Teams will spend one, possibly two days, on a light construction or maintenance project on Doulos Campus.
   COMMUNITY PROJECT. Teams will spend one day serving in the community in a project related to their expedition.
   OPERATIONS. This gift contributes to the day to day costs of running a school and helps to offset student tuition rates.

Any remaining funds will be used for capital development or general maintenance projects.

 

Tourism and Adventure

    BEACH. All transportation, lodging, and meal costs are outside of per diem.
    ECOTOURISM. Adventure activities are available inside and outside of Jarabacoa. Cost is dependent on distance and activity. There are select activities that are within the per diem budget.

The SLT coordinator is available to make all arrangements for Tourism and Adventure.


Deposits and Payment Policy

    $250.00 Group Registration to reserve week (non-refundable)
    $100/person deposit 45 days after registration (non-refundable).
        Minimum $1000 due at this time + all participants beyond 10.
    Payment 45 days before trip start date 65%
    Payment 30 days before trip start date 35% + any additional fee or participants

Group deposit + individual deposit go toward total trip costs.
